On foxhunting tour
Mrs. Corwith Hamill, master of the Wayne-Du Page Hunt in Illinois, and Mrs. Montgomery Orr of the same hunt, who are on a foxhunting tour of the East, stopped off at Mrs. James R. Jamieson’s near Culpeper for the weekend and were in the field on Saturday. Mrs. Orr hunted only in the morning, loaning her mount to Mrs. Jamieson for the afternoon. The Jamieson hunter, showing off to the Westerners, wouldn’t load for the meet.
Mrs. Orr deviled eggs all afternoon at Stonehaven, a happy change, momentarily from the rigorous schedule the two Wayne-Du Page members have set for themselves. They are working on up to Middleburg, and Piedmont and then on to the ElkridgeHarford Hunt in Maryland.
The Ralph Ingersolls, proud parents of a month old baby, drove over to Stonehaven from their Castleton house for the party. Although neither of the Ingersolls hunt, they seem to find the quiet life in the Rappahannock country the answer to their personal Utopia. Ralph, whom time has tempered, has finished the first volume of his five volume autobiography. The last part of this terrific undertaking will be given over to his life in Virginia.
