Softball
The Varsity Girls Softball showed they had all the right stuff this past week as they beat the Lady Bulldogs from Luray and the Lady Rams from Strasburg on two consecutive nights. On Monday, April 9, the Lady Panthers traveled to Luray and shut down their team behind the five-hit pitching of sophomore, Rachel Sharp, who struck out 10 Luray batters. Sharp, along with junior Amy Clinedinst, each had two hits apiece for the offense as the Lady Panthers won 7-1.
On Tuesday, April 10, the Varsity girls were in Strasburg for a 7p.m. game with the Lady Rams. The ( Lady Panthers jumped off to a 4 to 0 lead and seemed to have things under control until the bottom of the fourth inning. Johnson started the game on the mound and had a no-hitter going with one out, when she walked the next two Strasburg batters. Head Coach, Jon Smythe pulled her, put in Sharp and watched the next girl get walked to load the bases.
