Notice of Rappahannock County

Democratic Caucus

The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee hereby announces that it will hold an assembled caucus at 12 noon on Saturday, April 28. 2001, at The Theatre at Washington, 291 Gay Street, Washington, Virginia for the purpose of electing 5 delegates to the 10th Congressional District Convention and to consider resolutions to be forwarded to said District Convention and to the State Central Committee.

In accordance with the Virginia Democratic Party Plan, the Rappahannock County Democratic Caucus is open to all Democrats registered to vote in Rappahannock County, Persons wishing to be candidates for Delegate shall fill out and submit a tiling form along with a voluntary administrative fee of $10.00.

Completed forms and fees may be mailed to RCDC, P.O. Box 277, Washington, VA 22747 or given to one of the officers: Meredith Gorfein, Lillian Aylor, Floyd Stilley, or Andy Platt. In all cases the forms must be in the hands of an officer no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2001. Slates may be formed, and the same deadline and rules shall apply.

Delegate Filing Forms, copies of the Call to Caucus, and the Temporary Rules for the Caucus are available at the Registrar of Voters’ office on Gay Street, Washington, during their regular business hours, or by calling Meredith Gorfein, 540-675-3515 or Floyd Stilley, 540-675-1930.

On Saturday, April 28, the doors to the Caucus will be opened at 11:00 a.m. for the check-in/certifieation process. All participants of the Caucus shall sign a standardized declaration form stating that he or she is a Democrat; does not intend to support any candidate who is opposed to a DerrRX'ratic Nominee in the next General Election; is not a member of any other political party; has not participated and will not participate in the nominating process of any other Party for the 2001 General Election; and is a registered voter in Rappahannock County. Caucus Declaration Forms must be filled out at the Caucus prior to participating in the Caucus. At 12 mx>n, the dtxirs to the Caucus will be closed and no person may complete a form and participate in the Caucus after that time with the exception of those persons in line to check in at 12 noon.

The 10th Congressional District Convention will convene on Saturday, May 19 at 11:00 a.m. at the Warrenton Middle School, 244 Waterloo Street, Warrenton, Virginia.
