Jennifer Tomeden constructed a soda straw arm during “Physics Days” two weeks ago at Kings Dominion. The students were trying to construct the longest arm they could which would support a 100-gram weight. Rappahannock High students placed second in a test of buoyancy and third on Fermi questions and came in fifth overall out of 18 schools that participated.
