“Constituent service is very important to me, and I want the people I represent to contact me,” said Louderback. “And I am glad Rappahannock County was left whole by the redistricting.”
Louderback, who was first elected to the House in 1999, plans to formally file for reelection next week.
One of the immediate impacts of the redistricting was felt by Washington resident Walter Longyear, who early-on declared his candidacy for the Republican nomination for the old 31st District delegate’s seat.
Redistricted into the 15th, Longyear has ended his quest for a seat in the Virginia House of Delegates, and has thrown his support behind Del. Louderback.
“The redistricting knocked me out of the delegate’s race,” said Longyear, who had run on a conservative platform emphasizing family values and individual responsibility.
Wendell “Dell* Ennis, of Fauquier County, also campaigned in Rappahannock for the delegate’s seat. Now, Ennis will have to focus his energies on southeastern Fauquier and the southern precincts in Prince William that now make up the “new” 31st District.
