Quite a large delegation attended the Easter “SonRise” services for the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church held Sunday morning here on Burke’s Hill. This is an annual event by the church and as always breakfast was served at the church following the service.
Another church here in our community, the New Salem Baptist Church held their Sunrise Services at the church Sunday morning and breakfast followed in the fellowship hall.
Just down the road a short distance, members and friends of Good Hope Baptist Church, held their sunrise services at 7 a.m. with Rev. Roland Smith of Great Falls, as their guest speaker. Breakfast also followed this service.
Marc Dodson, a student at James Madison University, Harrisonburg, spent the Easter weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.T. Dodson of Salem.
Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Peregory and Loren, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Mills, Shirley, Rebecca and Mary, Mrs. Janet Peregory, Joseph and Jennifer, and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Bragg, Kellie, Karla, Matthew and Mark, all motored to Mauertown last Saturday and were joined by Mr. and Mrs. Bill Peregory and Joel Peregory, Kenny and Heidi of Front Royal, for a pre-Easter dinner party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Gheen.
We’d like to extend great wishes to brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Shelvy Frazier who celebrate another wedding anniversary on Thursday, April 19.
For all of you who know them we covet your prayers for our great friends, Dr. and Mrs. Wayne Thompson, who are on a missionary trip to Hungary.
On Saturday Mrs. Ray Frazier of Turkey Ridge Road accompanied by Mrs. Henry Wharton and Mrs. Alvin Atkins of Sperryville and Miss Brenda Frazier of Culpeper motored to Fredericksburg for a day of shopping.
Joel Peregory and children, Kenny and Heidi of Front Royal and Miss Kendra Hitt were Friday overnight guests of the Joe Peregorys on Castleton Ford Road.
