“Dog Day Afternoon ”planned
Rappahannock Animal Welfare League (RAWL) presents the first “Dog Day Afternoon” Saturday June 2nd (rain date Sunday June 3rd) from 12 to 5 p.m. at Windsor Lodge Farm in Flint Hill. Admission $5 (children 12 and under free).
“Join us for a family fun day featuring doggie demos and contests: Terrier Races, "Tongue in Cheek” Dog Show, Agility Fun Runs, Working Dog Demos and more! Flint HiU sets carnival dates
The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company’s annual fireman’s carnival has a new date and also new rides for this year. The dates are June 13-16. Virginia Premier Events will provide the rides. Anyone interested in helping with the carnival may call the firehouse, 675-3286.
Free hearing screenings set
Fauquier Hearing Services will be participating in National Day of Hearing Testing on Saturday, May 12. They will be providing free hearing screenings to the public at their office which is located in the Warrenton Professional Center, 493 Blackwell Road, Suite 315.Screening is on a first come first serve basis. Ruritans plan festival

Spring concert scheduled
The Front Royal Oratorio Society announces its spring concert, : “Choral Works of the Masters", an overview of the last 1,500 years of beautiful choral music. The performances, directed by George T. Amos with accompaniment by Judy Connelly will be presented Saturday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Boggs Chapel, Randolph-Macon ! Academy, Front Royal and Sunday, April 29 at 7 p.m. at Braddock • Street United Methodist Church, Winchester. !
The chorus of over 50 singers, from six surrounding counties, ; will perform many favorites of the choral literature along with other less well-known but equally exciting works, accompanied by interesting program notes from Mr. Amos.
