“The Sheriff’s Office is giving the lights away free of charge to seniors in the county,” said Sgt. Sal Tbrelli, community services officer.
“We’re also going to make them available at community events. This is a great idea and we want to get as many as possible out and used,” Tbrelli said.
Upcoming event
The Fauquier TRIAD will host a conference for senior Virginians next week at the Warrenton American Legion. Scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the conference will focus on crime prevention for the community, particularly for senior citizens. Registration begins at 9 a.m.
The keynote speaker will be Marian Dolliver of the Virginia chapter of the American Agency on Aging, who will speak on Medicaid and Medicare fraud.
