House and Senate bills establishing the new voting districts in the Commonwealth are likely to pass later this week.
The bills — House Bill 1 and Senate Bill 1 — passed on April 12, and were “crossed over,” where they are currently being studied by the respective Privilege and Election committees.
Gov. Jim Gilmore still must sign the bills, and the U. S. Department of Justice must still review and approve the plan. But it is highly unlikely that the decision to pull Rappahannock County from the old 31st District east and
Elace it in the new 15th House •istrict, with Page and Shenandoah counties to the west.
Back home in Luray after completing the recent specia1 session, 15th District Delegate Allen Louderback stated that . he was pleased he would be representing Rappahannock County under the new plan.
