Physical abuse

Physical abuse is defined as any act which, regardless of intent, results in a nonaccidental physical injury. Inflicted physical injury most often represents unreasonably severe spankings. Severe spankings usually occur when the parent or other caretaker is frustrated or angry and strikes, shakes, or throws the child. Also included in this category of •abuse are the intentional^ deliberate assault such as burning, biting, cutting, and twisting limbs. 1 .'Physical indicators of-i physical abuse may include, but not limited to: question-? able bruises and welts; ques-* tionable burns; questionably fractures; and/or question-\ able lacerations or abrasions/
