Jenkins spent most of his season at second base, but is versatile enough to play anywhere on the field.
“We could probably stick him anywhere and he would be good,” said Jeff Jenkins, Travis’ father and Rappahannock County High School’s head baseball coach. “He’s a very hard worker and sound defensive player.”
While, Jenkins has proved to be the Panthers’ defensive stopper, he’s also showed flashes of brilliance at the plate.
Last season, he batted .343 with his one home run and 7 RBI.
But as the season went on, Jenkins only got better. During Bull Run District play, Jenkins finished with a .364 batting average.
After starting out sixth in the batting order, he worked his way up to fifth, and then to second by season’s end.
