Landowners Association will be on June 25, and will include a field visit to a loblolly pine forest tract Currently undergoing thinning, a clear cut/bum site being prepared for replanting, and a discussion of the Special Land Use Assessment for county property tax purposes. The thinning portion of the program will begin at 6:00 p.m. at Delph Farm in Wolftown. The remainder of the program will begin at 7 p.m. at Middle River Farm in Hood. Mike Santucci, one of our Virginia State Foresters, will discuss timber management, and Gail Harris, Commissioner of Revenue for Madison County, will discuss the Land Use Assessment. This association has been formed by landowners in Madison, Green, Orange, Culpeper and Rappahannock counties with an interest in stewardship of forests and farmland. Membership is open for all.
