Great Meadow hosted the annual Courage Cup charity event on the newly renovated grass field on Saturday, June 16, along with the usual twilight polo matches in the arena.
The Courage Cup benefits the Work To Ride polo program, which provides inner-city children the opportunity to learn about horses and participate in equine activities.
The afternoon’s events included two polo matches. The first was an introduction to polo for many of the Cup’s attendees.
“It was great,” said Doug Barnes, Destination Polo school manager and professional, “The event is a first-rate introduction to them [the spectators! and the community.”
