Thirty-five curious residents showed up at the Washington Fire Hall last Friday to witness the formation of TRIAD, a partnership formed by local law enforcement and area organizations to ensure quality care of seniors.
Triad director Jennifer Aulgur, from the Attorney General’s office, introduced the program to the group before the signing, pledging to assist Rappahannock Comity TRIAD members as they move forward.
The purpose of TRIAD is to develop crime prevention and safety programs for older Virginians.
Rappahannock County Sheriff Larry Sherertz spoke about how he was convinced by Major Christopher Williams to start a TRIAD program in the county noting that the Sheriffs office already had a program to check up on seniors.
Sherertz said that he was certain that the TRLAD program would be good for the county “The partnership that we form today will ensure a higher quality of life for Rappahannock seniors,” Sherertz said.
“They talked about forming a TRIAD program when Gary Settle was here,” said Williams, “but I got a good understanding of it during Alzheimer training for first responders.”
