with some last minute packing. Linda was in the laundry room, packing the detergent and the bleach and all the stuff you need to do your laundry, and she came across a large; brown paper bag. The contents of the bag appeared to be pieces of that blue-haze fuzz you are supposed to remove from the lint filter every time you put clothes in the dryer.

At first, she thought it was trash. But, then, she noticed that there was nothing in the bag but these little balls of lint. It was time for an explanation.

“Molly, can I throw this bag of lint balls in the trash? What in the world are you saving this stuff for?”

“No, Mom. Don’t throw that out. They make great fire starters.”

Now, maybe you don’t have it in your official job description that you are responsible for the activities of a bunch of children. Perhaps, you don’t often take these children out to roast hot dogs and marshmallows over an open fire. But, if you do, then you best save those lint balls. They make great fire starters.
