As if by magic, Cami Kitchen, the mother of Wes, who plays Launce from ‘Two Gentlemen of Verona” and Joe Boutee whose daughters Jessica (Titania) and Danielle (Muse of Comedy) appeared and stepped in. Joe’s oft-said comment, “I’m here for you,” rang so truly. Cami made the show a family affair bringing her daughter Sarah and two other sons Justin and Andrew to help.
And here we go, the Grand Entrance. The Royals (Norm and Joan Getsinger), the Muses,(Paulette Borek, Dawn Schimke, Georgie Nunberg, Virginia Audrain, Danielle Boutte, and Jessica Stout), the Actors, confident, I hope, of their lines all in “places” at exactly three minutes to seven. Yes, one of the goals of the Rappahannock Repertory Company is that as a fledgling professional company we will begin on time.
There was Richard Lykes, camera poised for feverish photo-taking and Rob Sherwood, one of two videographers on tap. Sarah Kitchen, her first time as a follow spot operator, is poised and ready for the first cue. Carl Aplin has made sure that all his “techies” received expert training. Matt Fitzgerald, his finger on the “pause” button eager for his sound design to usher forth with “It’s Raining, It’s Pouring” , by Peter, Paul and Mary.
