The King of the Forest needs a crown
It's not easy to costume 30 people who are changing roles in several performances but Marie Scavetti and Heather Puskar had devised a system. They laid all the costumes in sections on the floor, had actors approach the costume room one at a time and dress each in turn. But some hadn't read the cast list for opening and appeared in the wrong costume.
Rushing out of the line up and back to the room they were regarbed with only seconds to spare. And those small touches that had been forgotten. Norm Getsinger, Prospero, the King of the Enchanted Forest needed a crown. Quick, a garland of ivy! And Joan of Arc needed flowers on her sword. Hurry, get some wire and attach them. And the sequins are coming off Preslee Thomas's Muse costume and the symbol of Love just can’t appear without the glitter of affection. Where are Wes Kitchen’s (Bottom) dappled ears. Lost! Pull out the brown ones, and hurry.
