Mello also reminded the graduates not to forget the county where they grew up, noting that past students have returned to the county, grateful for their high school experience.
“The Rappahannock community is a precious thing,” he said “you won’t know until you leave, how blessed you’ve been here.”
Mello closed his remarks by sending the seniors forward. “You’ve become tremendous citizens, and in the future you are going to walk the line in some community,” he said. “We love you, we miss you, good luck.”
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Robert Chappell encouraged the graduates to continue their education adding, “we encourage you to believe in ^yourselves and attain to whatever you feel like you can attain, and don’t ever, ever, give up.”
Vice Chair of the Rappahannock School board, Aline Johnson, also gave some advice, “you have' done well and accomplished much, and we are proud of you,” she said warmly, “set your goals high and work hard.”
