spent a lot of time working with Rappahannock Social Services s Sharon Payne to get the partnership started in the county.
Elaine Anderson, an organizer from Orange County spoke about how she became interested in TRIAD when she realized how it helped seniors remain independent. “I want to stay at home as long as I can,” she said, “TRIAD will help me do that.” Anderson spoke of several programs such as the File of Life, a compilation of information in case of an emergency; the Yellow Dot program, identifying a seniors vehicle in case of a theft or an accident, and an annual Senior Conference exposition which touts programs available to help seniors. She also spoke highly of Project Lifesaver. a program that allows seniors to alert * emergency workers with an electronic device in case of an accident.
Pamphlets of TRIAD partners and various organizations were handed out for all to study while refreshments were served.
Members of the TRLAD partnership include The American Red Cross, the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors, the Rapidan Community Services Board, The Rappahannock Health Department. Rappahannock Social Services, The Washington Baptist Church. Aging Together, and Hospice and Family Care from Culpeper.
