Early beginnings
Rev. Thornton Hill and two members from the Battle Run Church founded the Macedonia Baptist Church. Rev. George Homer, the first pastor, organized it the third Sunday in July 1865. This minister and the members held their services in the fields and different homes. The deed was made on November 23, 1887 between Franklin and Millie Flynn, Jack „ Banks, Wesley Curtis, Carter Corbin, Matt Corbin, Frederick Jordan, Lee Green, and the Trustees of the church. The land contained one quarter of an acre, more or less, for the sum of $250.00. It took 22 years to raise the money before Franklin Flynn built the church. A significant foundation upon which this church was built created a sense of unity.
Rev. Homer may have seen a vision, as did Paul when he extended Christianity, therefore he did likewise and reached out to extend and found the First Baptist Church, Hopewell Baptist Church, and Shiloh Baptist Church while serving as
