Barn shooter
A property owner on West View lane reported on June 16 that a neighboring juvenile had shot at his bam. According to the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s office, the juvenile shot out of the window of his house with a 22 rifle, puncturing the tin siding of the bam. The property owner pressed charges which include reckless discharge of a firearm and destruction of property.
Domestic dispute
Tyrone Starks, 31, of Washington, Va was arrested for assault and battery of a family member after a woman called in to report that she had been assaulted in her home. The incident occurred on Pearl Lane on June 16. RCSO Deputy Robbie Fincham investigated the incident; RCSO Gary Jenkins arrested Starks.
Attempted vending machine burglary
Hackly’s store in Amissville reported on June 12 that someone had attempted to break into the drink machines near their business on US 211. Both the Pepsi and Coke machines had pry marks on the doors. The incident is under investigation
