Riedel/Matthews graduate from
Virginia Military Institute
May 2007-David J. Riedel, Jr. of Washington, was among 283 cadets who received degrees May 16 at Virginia Military Institute’s commencement exercises. Cadet Riedel, received a BS degree in civil engineering, with Distinction. He is a graduate of Wakefield County Day School and is the son of David and Marie Riedel of Washington. While at VMI, he was on the dean’s list, received academic stars, was a member of Phi Eta Sigma, The America Society of Civil Engineers and the Newman Club. After graduation, he will attend graduate school at Virginia Tech.
Whitney C. Matthews of Flint Hill, was among 283 cadets who received degrees May 16 at Virginia Military Institute’s commencement exercises.
Cadet Matthews, received a BA degree in history, double major in modem languages and cultures and a minor in English. She is a graduate of Wakefield County Day School and is the daughter of Dwight and Jennifer Matthews.
While at VMI, she was on the dean’s list, a member of Delta Phi Alpha, German Club, English Society, Cadet Counseling and softball team.
