Now, I already knew that this hold-onto-it affliction had passed from me to my daughter. I knew that because in my basement, as we speak, there are glass jars of little rocks, and sea shells, and other interesting stuff that a child would pick up on the beach, or on the banks of a river, where we were vacationing. I also knew this because we still have, in the same basement, most of the schoolwork, art work, term papers and poems and stories that were written by that same little girl. But, last week, took the cake.
