Closing ceremonies
Thirteen students graduated during Wakefield Country Day School’s recent primary and grammar school closing ceremonies. Throughout the evening, the school celebrated the accomplishments of the students in first through seventh grade and recognized the grade seven students.
Two seventh graders spoke, John Morgan Christoph and Brian Shafran, sharing their reflections on their schooling at Wakefield and their anticipation of the next steps in their advance towards college.
Brian, a first-honors student, thanked the teachers who worked with the class over the years particularly acknowledging math teacher Mrs. Emma Sue Amos.
John Morgan, who earned the highest grade point average in the grammar school, opened with a quote from Winston Churchill, “This is not the end. This is not even the beginning of the end. But it may be the end of the beginning.”
