THE SPIRIT OF INDEPENDENCE DAY is embodied in Uncle Sam and the American Flag. As in past years when Charlie Manaon dressed up as the Nation’s favorite uncle, Avon Hall will be the center of late afternoon festivities on July 4th. Entertainment and fireworks will begin at 6:30 p.m. on the grounds. Come early and bring a family picnic supper or pick up delicious roast pig and drinks on the way in through the Monument Grounds near the courthouse on Gay Street. There will be no picnic supper at Avon Hall except what spectators bring for themselves. The Carrigani ask that trash be placed in the receptacles provided.
