New Jersey, September 10 and expected to reach 1 California on January 25, 1931. Hv Jacks plans called for him to rest two days before beginning the return journey. He was being paid $1,000 or $1 a mile for the trek. “One lady, upon seeing him, started on the run for home, saying surelv the world was coming to an end,” according to a report of his visit in town in the Blue Ridge Guide.
