It was Parlegreco almost all the way at the finals of the Rappahannock Recreation Authority’s tennis tournament held last Saturday and Sunday at Dr. and Mrs. Werner Krebser’s courts at Huntly.

In women’s singles on Sunday. Poula Parlegreco breezed by Theresa McLawhorn, 6-0, 6-1. Then she combined with her husband Steve to overwhelm the team of Jean Lillard and Rod Kirkpatrick in mixed doubles play, 6-1, 6-1.

In women’s doubles championship the previous afternoon, Parlegreco and Lillard joined forces to down Sharon Luke and Diane Bruce, 7-6, 6-2.

The only time the Parlegreco name didn’t appear in the winner’s slot was after Sunday’s men's singles final. Nineteen-yearold Keith Hutchinson was all concentration as he demolished Steve Parlegreco, 6-0. 6-0, in a match that spectators described, as ‘‘beautiful tennis” and “fantastic to watch.”

In earlier action on Saturday. Merle Strange bested Cancy Coombs in the "A” flight of women's singles, 6-0. 6-1.
