Presidential Physical Fitness Awards are given to children who score "excellent” in the following competitions: pull-ups, situps, standing broad jump, shuttle run, 50yard dash and the 600 yard run. The sole recipient of an award for the fourth year was Lee Baines. Garri Jackson was the only person to receive the three year award. Those who received the physical fitness for the second year were Terri Jordan, Devin Moore, Dexter Freeman, Neil Burke, Richard Tribino, Carroll Stringfellow, and Eric Dunn. Those receiving first year awards included Denise Eidson, Gina Schumaker, Heather Blevins, Penny Atkins, Chris Williams, Mike Nester, Georgeanna Brown, Rolanda Cook, Patricia Rector, Roy Pullen, Thomas Taylor, Marc Wiley, Greg Smith, Butch Foster, Randy Jenkins, Anna Hudson, Kathy Dodson, Donna Foster, Daniel Ellis, Brendan Finnerty, Neal Atkins, Irvin Freeman, Jonah Waggener, Susie Dearing, Paul Butler, Charles Slaughter, Tony Williams, and Eric Robinson.

Those who participated in the Solo and Ensemble Festival were given medals for their performances.
