Thrift Shop Activities The Thrift Shop will be open July 4th from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Washington Ladies Auxiliary will have a bake sale beginning at 10 a.m. at the Town Hall. Sandwiches and drinks will also be for sale. Any donations of baked goods will be greatly appreciated.
Benefit Concert There will be a concert on Saturday. July 10, from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Rappahannock County High School, featuring the Young Dominion from Fauquier County. Admission is $3 per person and tickets may be purchased at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department.
Music And Arts Camp Set Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music will present its ninth annual Shenandoah Music and Arts Camp July 11-25. The program offers music and theatre experiences for students ages 12-18 through a variety of activities in a number of areas such as concert band, jazz ensemble, chamber orchestra, keyboard, technical theatre, music theatre workshop and show choir. AH classes are taught by Shenandoah faculty members and culminate in a series ot performances at the end of the camp. Enrollment is still open in most divisions. Drug/Alcohol Meeting Teenagers and their parents are invited to the third in a continuing series to drug-alcohol meetings to be held Tuesday, July 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the elementary school library. A Virginia State Trooper will present a special program aimed at young people underlining the dangers of drug abuse.
Anniversary Celebration The Senior Choir of the Promise Land Baptist Church, Washington will be celebrating it’s anniversary on Sunday, July 4, beginning at 3 p.m. The Rev. Howard Frye from Nazareth Baptist Church in Boston and his choir will be guests. Everyone is welcome.
Amissville Hosts Barbeque The A iville Ruritan Club invites the public to its 21st am. barbecue dinner, on Saturday, July 3rd trom 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Amissville fire hall. Dinner includes the famous "pit-cooked" barbecue beet, cole slaw, baked beans, corn bread, pickles and dessert. Coffee or hot tea is served with dinner. Advance tickets are $5.00 per adult or $7.00 for allyou-can-eat, and $3.00 for children 12 or under. Advance tickets may be purchased from any Amissville Ruritan Club member or at T. C. Barron's Viewtown store. Tickets at the door will be $1.00 more except for children.
