“At 10:00 laundry wagon still in town; at 10:30 P. E. Chelf begins to say it is the hottest day he has ever felt; at 11:30 P. E. Chelf begins to disappear; at 12 noon housewives wonder if they have prepared enough for the noonday meal; at 12:30 laundry wagon moves to Bradford Bros, store.
“At 1:00 dinner bell rings.
“At 2 E. M. Greene and J. L. Cresap move to upper porch.
“At 3 laundry wagon starts for home.
“At 6 laundry wagon still in town. And so it goes every Monday. We have been asked to give the diary of a busy town and we take Monday in Flint Hill, which is a typical day.”
