Across Main Street and to the north from Nature’s Foods is the Inn at Little Washington, a fine restaurant which has gained nationwide attention for being at the forefront of a new American cuisine, a cuisine combining the freshest and best of- local ingredients with classical and new French cooking techniques. On the corner of Main and Piedmont is Albright’s Art Studio, featuring works by local artist Margery Albright and others. Margery has just moved into this new studio, and most of her water color and oil paintings center around Rappahannock scenes.
Across from Albright's Art Studio in the Clopton House is the Middle Street Gallery, where Dan Lewis and Sarah Adams are showing a special display for the fourth for the benefit of the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community. Local artists have donated a portion of the sale of their works for this newly-formed community group.
Also showing at Middle Street will be the creations of Rex Slack, a Rappahannock artist whose show of paintings, miniatures and constructions has drawn visitors from hundreds of miles away.
Also in the Clopton House is the office of Solar Design Services, a unique construction service offered by partners Sam Gifton and Ken Ritvo. Sam and Ken provide solar analysis, architectural and product design and project management from design through construction.
Near the G.>pton House between Main and Gay Streets is Country Cupboards, the showroom of cabinetmaker Gene Lyman. Country Cupboards will be closed Saturday and Sunday, but stop by any weekday to see Gene’s custom cabinets and reproduction furniture.
In the front of the same building is John Walker Jenkins' Auction House and showroom. You will recognize John Walker as the auctioneer conducting Sursum Corda’s benefit
