The fleetfooted sophomore took fifth in the 100 meter dash and sixth in the 220 meter dash in the state meet to earn most valuable runner in boys track. In other awards handed out at last week’s athletic banquet, Earl Jewell was named most improved cross country runner, Scott Keithley most valuable cross country runner and Doyle Dunn most valuable field event competitor in boys track.
