In Polo
After several weeks of delay due to soggy turf, the 1982 polo season opened at Phipps Field last Sunday with a well-played contest that saw Rappahannock down long-time rival Middleburg.
Argentinian professional Marcos Bignoli of Amissville and John Gulick each contributed half of the winners' total points as Rappahannock rode to a 6-3 victory.
The season's schedule will see the Middleburg Polo Club playing weekly Sunday afternoon matches beginning at 3:30 on Phipps Field off Route 50 between Upperville and Middleburg. For further information, call 777-1403.
