Davis gets OK

After a half-hour closed-door session with attorney Douglas Baumgardner on Monday, the Rappahannock supervisors voted unanimously to approve Dorothy Davis’ request for a special exception permit to subdivide 112 acres near the Town of Washington into three lots of 25, 35 and 52 acres.

According to the prepared resolution read by Mr. Baumgardner, the board agreed with opponents of the request that it would be inappropriate to rezone property to residential subdivision, “an illegal zoning district,” and thus found the subdivision ordinance requirement for rezoning to residential subdivision as a prerequisite to subdivision plat approval to be void.
