Virginia Petlie
Virginia Burke Pettie, 88, of Culpeper, died Sunday, March 30, at Orange County Nursing Home following a long illness.
Mrs. Pettie was a native of Rappahannock County, the daughter of Puller and Jean Jenkins Burke and the widow of Davie Pettie. She had lived in Culpeper for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Lois J. Bethel of Ketchikan, Alaska, and Dorothy A. Carman of Vienna; a son, Marion D. Pettie of Sperryville; nine grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren.
Additional survivors include two sisters, Bessie Burke of Culpeper and Polly Morton of North Carolina; her step-mother, Lula Burke of Haywood; a half-sister, Helen Young of Richmond, and a halfbrother, R. Guy Burke of Haywood.
Graveside services were held Thursday, April 3, at the Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. John S. Farrar officiating.
Clore Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Marshall Jenkins
Marshall Jenkins, 50, of Brandy Station, died on Saturday, April 5, at the Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Rappahannock County.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Lizzie Settle Jenkins of Brandy Station, two sisters, Mrs. Louise Hume and Mrs. Betty Hume, both of Culpeper, and two brothers, William Jenkins and James Jenkins, both of Culpeper.
