After retiring Rappahannock in one-two-three order, Brentsville jumped to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Rappahannock came back with one run in the top of the second, before Brentsville added another run in the bottom of the second.
Rappahannock got hot in the third, scoring four runs after doubles by T. Jenkins and Foster, and singles by Wood and D. Smith, which captured the lead, 5-4.
Rappahannock added another run in the fourth; Brentsville tallied two to tie the score 6-6. D. Smith singled in the fifth and scored on an error. Brentsville matched the score to tie the game again at 7-7.
In the top of the sixth, Brown led off with a triple, C. Jenkins walked, stole second, and both scored on T. Jenkins’ double. Brentsville’s Alvarez singled to lead off the sixth, before T. Jenkins struck out two and Brown caught a towering fly to center. The game ended after six innings due to darkness.
In district action, the Panthers travel to Stonewall Friday night (April 11) where the game will be played under the lights. Game time is 7 p.m.
