Spring event planned Washington Baptist Church will host its traditional spring event on Saturday, April 19, beginning at 10 a.m. It will include a bake sale, plant sale, box lunches, barbecued chicken, hot dogs, drinks, and Grandma’s Attic (a flea market).

Fire Department to hold auction The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department will hold an auction on Saturday, May 3, at 10 a.m. at the fire hall. All donations will be greatly appreciated. For pickup service please contact Riverside Auto Service at 987-8264 or any member of the fire department. Tom Reese will be the auctioneer.

Dance series to begin A new eight-week dance series sponsored by the Child Care and Learning Center will begin on Thursday, April 10. Call the Center at 675-3237 for additional information or registration.

Ruritans to meet The Amissville Ruritan Club will meet on Wednesday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m. at the Amissville Baptist Church. All members are urged to attend.

Annual benefit dinner The annual dinner sponsored by the Castleton Fire Department and Rescue Squad will be held April 25 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the fire hall. Roast beef and turkey will be served. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $3.25 for children.

Thrift Shop to reopen The Washington Ladies Auxiliary will reopen the Thrift Shop on Friday. The shop will be open every Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. If you have items to donate and need help in getting them to the shop call Ruth Clark, 675-3608.

Extension club to meet The Flint Hill Home Extension Club will meet on Tuesday, April 15, kt 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Sandra Jenkins. All members are urged to attend.

Bus trip scheduled A bus trip has been scheduled to the State U shers Memorial service in Alexandria on Sunday, April 13. The bus will leave the Southgate Shopping Center in Culpeper at noon. For more information call Charlotte Aylor at 987-8359.

Fashion show planned A fashion show entitled “Tally Ho!” will be presented on Sunday, April 20, at 2 p.m. at the Rappahannock Elementary School. The show is sponsored by the Rappahannock Woman’s Club. Members of the club are currently seeking patron ads. Proceeds from the show will benefit the Woman’s Club Scholarship and the Rappahannock County 4-H Day Camp.

Fodderslack 10KM The annual Fodderstack 10KM classic race will be held on Saturday, April 19, at 10 a.m. The race begins in Flint Hill on Route 522 and ends at the courthouse in Washington, via the Fodderstack Road.
