Students of Wakefield School in Huntly won 11 of the 12 prizes awarded in the regional division of the National History Contest held at Shenandoah College in Winchester on March 29. Schools from the 7th Congressional District of Virginia were eligible for participation in the regional contest.
There are three divisions in the contest: research papers, projects, and performances; and two levels: junior (grades 6-8) and senior (grades 9-12). The theme of this year’s contest was “Conflict and/or Compromise in World History.”
The Wakefield winners include:
