The Middle Street Gallery Artists’ Cooperative has produced a second interesting show from its members (the first being the Valentine Art Show in February). Focusing on the theme “Portraits and the Human Form,” the work ranges from well-done traditional paintings, photographs and drawings to boldly imaginative and humorous mixed media pieces. There is an overall excellence to the show. Craftsmanship is obviously important to these artists.
The Gallery has three rooms, each with a distinct feel. The first room, as one enters the Gallery, has a quality of elegance. The second feels symbolic and ritualistic. The third combines the haunting, the humorous and fashionable.
