In response to Mr. Konick’s offers of cooperation by his clients, Mr. Estes said, “If there was something I thought you and your client could do, I’d shout it from the rooftops. Go find us a location — that’s acceptable to everyone!”
Pressing on, Mr. Konick asked who was looking in the board’s behalf for alternate landfill sites. “What’s your plan for what you’re going to do next?”
“We’re going to take up the accounts next,” interjected Board Chairman Hubert Gilkev, cutting off the discussion.
Animal shelter discussed
In response to questions from Patricia Saltonstall, officer of the fledgling Rappahannock Humane Society, Supervisor Gilkev reported that the animal shelter building will be completed by students at Piedmont Vocational Technical Center before June.
“Then we’ll have to place it on a site.” He acknowledged, however, that the board has made no progress in finding that site.
“Personally, I think it should be at the Scrabble School,” said Mr. Gilkey.
