The National Park Service is concerned about the impacts high visitation is having on Park resources and Park neighbors. Officials are encouraging visitors to explore some of the lesser used areas of the Park. There are over 500 miles of trails in Shenadoah, many which provide a genuine wilderness experience. Hazel Country and the Big Run Portal are beautiftil wilderness areas located within the Park. For more informaiton on hiking trails, contact Park staff at 999-2243.
