Most of the employees are from the county. Some start as high school students working after school and on weekends and become permanent employees when they graduate. Others go on to college, and their Faith Mountain experience impresses the colleges, Mrs. Woodard said.
The company tries to promote from within and is engaged with the school system in educating employees for increasing responsibility by participating with Lord Fairfax Community College in offering courses at the high school leading to associate degrees. Employees also get tuition to attend relevant classes at Shenandoah University.
Although the company has just sent out its holiday catalog, work has already begun on the spring catalog. Mrs. Woodward said they look at thousands of items trying to select those they will carry. That process is virtually complete for spring. Text is being written and arrangements for the photography are being made.
