The Theatre at Washington and the Division of Musical History at the Smithsonian Institution will again jointly present “The Smithsonian at Little Washington” concert series.
The first of four concerts will be on Oct. 29, with the remaining concerts scheduled for Dec. 3, Feb. 4 and March 18. The 1994-95 season is the third time that the concert series is being presented at the Theatre.
The new series of concerts from the Smithsonian begins at 3 p.m. on Oct. 29 when two members of the Castle Trio, pianist Lambert Orkis and ’cellist Kenneth Slowik, will present an afternoon of solo and duo pieces by Johann Sebrastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven. Both performers are internationally renowned for their performances on period instruments, and their artistry is featured on the Smithsonian and Virgin Classics record labels. A pre-concert talk by Lambert Orkis “On Beethoven’s Pianos” begins at 2:30 p.m.
