Signs supporting By bee for U.S. Senate appeared over the Columbus Day weekend at the intersection of Route 231 and U.S. 522 and at the intersection of U.S. 522 and U.S. 211 in Sperryville.
The blue and white signs state that this is a write-in campaign and give (703)960-9831 as a telephone number.
A call to that number reached Dennis L. Bybee who said he had put the signs up himself in an effort to make his independent bid better known.
The Bybee for Senate campaign is unique in not asking for funds. In fact, Mr. Bybee said he will not accept contributions to the campaign, which he is financing himself. He said he has $25,000 for the campaign and intends to spend exactly that much.
