I am voicing a complaint to the organizers of the fall festival held in Spervylle the first weekend of the month.
It is a very beautiful place. The festival was very nice also, except for one major problem. There were no bathroom facilities in Speryville for the handicapped.
You cannot get a wheelchair citizen into a porta-potty. We were forced to cut our stay short in order to drive all the way back to Culpeper, so my sister could use the bathroom. Not only was this a inconvenience to us, but she suffered the burden of trying to hold out for the long distance.
I would hate to think that such festivities were only for our ablebodied citizens. Just because the wheelchair citizens cannot walk or use their hands like the rest of us does not mean that they cannot enjoy the beauty of fall or festivals, music, crafts or being with other people.
