Mr. Harris is an active tennis player and teacher and leader of hikes. He expects the center to help with that. He is also very interested in organizing an effort to monitor water quality in the county’s rivers and streams. He is working with the high school environmental club on that and on programs to teach about native plants and how to preserve them. With RLEP he hopes to expand the summer natural history day camp to include older teens and adults. £ In back of all that is Mr. Harris’s belief that Rappahannock is a unique place where people can relate to the earth more naturally than they do in cities.
