Mayor Willis said that he would like the Washington Business Council to address the issue of decorating to see if they could take on the responsibility. Ms. Richey said that they wanted only to do the publicity for Colonial Christmas.
Ms. van Dort said that in the past, Town Council has authorized $1,500 to be spent on greens, but that actual expenses are approximately $500, after many of the greens are sold to businesses at a five percent profit. Eve Willis recommended that the greens go out for bids because she felt that last year the prices were higher than they had\ to be. “I think every $100 for the town counts,” she said.
