Aids RLS
To the Editor:
Rappahannock Legal Services is one of the member agencies of the Piedmont United Way. Legal Aid provides free legal help in civil cases to the nearly 12,000 low-income residents of Culpeper, Madison, Orange, Fauquier and Rappahannock counties.
Your United Way contribution helps our clients to get child and spousal support or other income into the household so they can get on their feet financially and stay off welfare or avoid homelessness.
United Way enables us to help disabled people qualify for SSI disability, VA benefits or decent medical care. /
With the help of the United Way, we assist senior citizens with wills, powers of attorney or guardianships and help them establish eligibility for Medicaid or other necessary programs.
Legal Aid is able to give assistance to clients fighting consumer rip-offs or who are being swallowed up by debt thanks in part to the financial support provided by United Way.
