lo replace Janice Motiett, bteve Critzer nominated Charlie Tompkins and Ray Gooch nominated Charlie Eldred. He said, “Charlie Eldred would be on this council if it were not for a coin toss.” (In the last election, Mr. Eldred had the same number of votes as Reinhardt Lynch, and Mr. Lynch won a coin toss which placed him on the council.)
Mr. Tompkins was not present at the meeting, but Mr. Critzer and Mr. Reynolds both said that he had told them that he would like to serve on the council. Several members of the audience spoke in favor of Mr. Eldred. Diane Bruce said that Mr. Eldred had missed being on the council by one vote four years ago, and that “he has always been right in there on top of the losers.”
Messrs. Willis, Critzer and Zumwalt voted for Charlie Tompkins, and Messrs. Gooch and Lynch voted for Charlie Eldred.
