To the Editor:
What has happened to a “reasonable delivery time” for delivering the mail? It happens everytime our regular carrier is off—we get our mail anytime. I mean anytime from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and beyond. Why? I realize that substitutes are not as familiar with the route as the regular carrier, but I would also think that after substituting a few times “not being familiar” would no longer apply. It is even worse when there is a holiday.
It is so frustrating. What can we as normal taxpaying citizens do to correct this unacceptable practice? A call to the Postal Inspector at Merrifield may be in order.
I hope some of the other people served near the end of Route 2, Amissville wll take time to protest also. Maybe we will get some relief.: Let’s see what happens.
